Montana made. Boston Found. Americana Hussy Bound.
A roots crooner with a feminist bent, Erin Bonnie is an Americana Folk-Rock Mama and fiddle player with style and presence to boot. Taking inspiration from artists like Gillian Welch, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, and Dolly Parton, she is a true hootin’ hollerin’ singer-songwriter at heart. From bluegrass to old time, classic country to blues rock, and modern country to alt folk, her songs are definitively lush in language and melody, regardless of where they fall in that fascinatingly grand spectrum of Americana music. Fiddle, pedal steel, honky tonk guitar, upright bass, mandolin — you name the Roots instrument and she’ll have a song that features it. As an artist and performer, Erin Bonnie abides by those intimate yet exhilarating moments of truth between audience and artist that happen because of a song, a stage, and - more often than not - a couple shots of bourbon.
Whether you're throwin’ down at a rowdy hoedown or crankin' the dials in a busted-up pickup, Erin Bonnie’s music hits you right in the gut. She packs a hell of a lot of heart into her tunes, weaving raw grit and big-picture truth into every chord. Her lyrics reach straight across the aisle, pulling you into dusty rooms, hard-won struggles, and wild places that feel totally new yet somehow just like home. As Jay Jenne noted in his review for the New England Americana Fest, “[Erin] Bonnie’s songwriting and style somehow manages to be simultaneously fresh and timeless. She might have graduated from the Berklee College of Music, but her repertoire has more in common with the Conservatory of Sawdust Floors and Lonely Roadside Bars.” That sawdust-and-whiskey authenticity fuels every single line, turning her songs into a raised glass for anyone who's ever lived a little history.
Raised in the stunning wilds of Montana in the quiet Jocko Valley town of Arlee, Erin Bonnie grew up playing bluegrass with her dad. That foundation of fiddle tunes and family jam sessions blended with Suzuki training and symphonic experience before she set pen to page and headed east to study at Boston's Berklee College of Music. Today, as an Associate Professor of Songwriting at Berklee, and author of Berklee Online's Lyric Writing 2, she passes that craft down to the next generation. Her balance of high-level discipline and down-home roots has earned a track record of heavy-hitting industry recognition, including sync placement on The Young and the Restless, an Honorable Mention in the American Songwriter Magazine Lyric Contest, and a New England Music Awards nomination for Best In State MA.
All that hard book-learning and callus-earning work comes through spectacularly in her most ambitious project yet, Americana Hussy — a sprawling, 31-song, 6-Act compendium of all-original Erin Bonnie music. Produced by Sean McLaughlin at 37’ Productions, the concept album reclaims disparaging slurs used to silence women, turning them into badge-of-honor titles across six distinct stylistic acts: Old Timey Harlot, Bluegrass Tramp, Classic Country C***, Blues Rock B****, Pop Country Slut, and F*** Girl Folk. Blending grit, sass, and unapologetic country-fueled Feminism, Americana Hussy brings together a powerhouse cast of killer guest musicians recorded live in the studio to deliver a fearless journey of realization, reclamation, and resistance.
The Americana Hussy release cycle begins September 16, 2026. A brand-new single drops on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, YouTube, and all major platforms every 10 days over the next year until the Complete LP comes out on August 20, 2027.
